The Stand Against Cancer program aims to provide breast and cervical cancer screenings for all women, particularly those who are unable to receive treatment because of economic hurdles. The program advocate reaches out to predominately minority and refugee/immigrant women through education, presentations and referrals. Women are able to receive mammograms and Pap smears on a sliding scale/free basis through referrals to local health clinics.
This program is funded by Rock Island Gaming Funds, Springfield Urban League, and the Community Foundation of the Great River Bend (Independent Physicians).
