National Night Out is an annual event held each year on the first Tuesday in August. The event is designed to:
- Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness.
- Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships.
- Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
NNO is sponsored by CCC, Rock Island Police, Rock Island Parks and Recreation, the National Association of Town Watch and Target. Funding from the Rauch Foundation also support the rally/picnic.
