Graffiti in your neighborhood? Tennis shoes hanging over high wires? Both are signs of potential gang activity in a neighborhood. Residents are encouraged to call the POLICE first so they can track the possible activity and then call Community Caring Conference and we can help you clean it up.

Gang graffiti distracts from your neighborhood and sends the wrong message about the area in which you live. Volunteers remove graffiti from businesses residents' homes and garages. Community Caring Conference has a power washer with a high pressure nozzle to blast graffiti off some surfaces. However, this method has been known to damage older wood. Should this situation arise, we will cover up the graffiti by painting over it. These two methods discourage others from "tagging over the graffiti".

Community Caring Conference will need written permission from business and residential property owners to remove graffiti. Since its inception, this service has helped to deter crime in Rock Island.
