CCC is excited to change directions for Project Thrive under its new coordinator Nora Steele to help move people in poverty toward prosperity. Project Thrive is a Rock Island County-wide initiative with the Rock Island County Task Force. CCC is providing individuals in the Rock Island and the Florenciente neighborhoods access to GED and computer and job skills training. Casa Guanajuato is home base for the Moline services. With the statistics gathered from the recent 5-week Study Circles dialogue sponsored by the Rock Island Neighborhood Partners, there are more people living in poverty than ever.
Under Project Thrive, CCC is offering a 12-week computer class beginning September 6th. are scheduled for 6 and 7 pm Tuesdays evenings, and 6 and 7 pm on Thursday evenings. Maximum students per class is 4 so sign up now to guarantee your spot! Classes will be taught by the CCC Team trained through the Connected Living group. These classes are an extension of those taught at the Rock Island Housing Authority. A graduation party will be held for the students November 23rd.
