Police Chief John Wright says "serious" crime is down 12 percent from '08 to '09. This covers murder*, manslaughter, sexual assault*, robbery*, aggravated assault*, burglary, theft and arson. Those words with astericks are considered "violent crimes". The Chief says "citizen involvement" is the key to keeping crime down. "Please call us," he said. "The police department alone cannot be with sole solution." This is one of several years where crime is down and the Chief credits CCC with helping keep citizens involved.
