Community Caring Conference

6^th Avenue west of 2^nd Street is closed.  The detour will be 2^nd Street to 13^th Avenue south and 2^nd Street to 4^th Avenue north.  Is it estimated that this road will reopen by the end of next week.

The Changing Faces: Refugees & Immigrants in Rock Island Action Forum is 6:30 pm Thursday, May 19^th at Rock Island Academy.  Childcare is provided.  CCC served as the Sunday and Tuesday evening sites for Study Circles, a community-wide dialogue with individuals of all races.  

David Levin, Vice President of the Illinois Region for Ruhl and Ruhl Commercial Realty will present information 6:30 pm Thursday, May 19^th at the MLK Center on fair housing and real estate.  Rory Washburn, Executive Director of the Tri City Building Trades Council will speak regarding apprenticeship opportunities in the QC building trades.

An Anti-Violence Awareness Memorial will be held 7 pm at the MLK Center Friday, May 20^th.  The event is sponsored by the Nimmers Family, Royal Neighbors Chapter 20043 and CCC.

The Dr. Martin Luther King Center Grand Opening is 3 to 6 pm Tuesday, May 24^th.
