Community Caring Conference

The GYO Statewide Network Symposium is November 18th - 19th.  GYO cosortia members, cohorts, organizers, and supporters will be meeting at Northwestern University to discuss program successes, challenges, and planning for FY12. Angela Richardson from CCC, Rori Carson, and Lynda Conover from Western Illinois University, and three cohort members from our local program will be representing West Central Illinois GYO program. 

 

New this year for GYO!  The Illinois Board of Higher Education will be administering the Grow Your Own Teacher FY11 grant.

 

The IBHE administers a variety of grants that provide financial assistance to public and non-public higher education institutions, with each program playing a significant role in advancing The Illinois Public Agenda For College and Career Success.

 

GYO Consortium was officially introduced to IBHE at a meeting in Springfield on October 6th.  Each group had the opportunity to share information about the talents and vision they had for the GYO program.  IBHE and the Center for the Study of Education Policy at Illinois State University will implement a new evaluation process for the GYO program.  All consortia received training: "Continuously Improving Policy Through Evaluation".  The information provided at this training will help us to evaluate our program success, document our progress, and use progress indicators to plan for our continuation grants.
